MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
OF THE INDINA WELLS VALLEY AIRPORT DISTRICT
August 9, 2007
1. CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL
President Mark Backes called the special meeting to order at
6:00 PM. Those present were Directors Rich Bruce, Nick Charlon,
and Jim Paris, General Manager Scott Seymour, Administrative
Assistant Sue Turner and District Counsel Wayne Lemieux via phone.
Director Paul Farris was absent.
2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO THE FLAG
Director Charlon led the group in reciting the pledge of allegiance.
3. CONSENT CALENDAR
A motion to accept the consent calendar as presented was made
by Director Charlon. The motion passed by voice vote: 4 ayes.
4. MANAGERS REPORT
Manager Seymour reported that enplanements for July were 1086
and that the fuel tank inspection was done and under what had
been budgeted. The AIP 22 bid opening was held today with two
companies bidding. Valley Slurry’s bid was $1,800,000.
and Bales Engineering Contractors was submitted for $1,200,000
leaving $400,000 left on the table to do additional projects.
The bids have been sent to Mead & Hunt for their review.
Mead & Hunt feels confident using Bales; they have worked
with them before.
5. BUSINESS ITEMS: No Business items to discuss.
6. DISTRICT COUNSEL
Wayne Lemeiux briefed the Board on the incident at the Mojave
Airport and the possibility of any future liabilities to Airports
who rent to potentially unqualified tenants involved in dangerous
activities. Mojave has hired a consultant and District Counsel
will keep the Board updated on any findings that do not violate
client confidentially.
7. PUBLIC COMMENT: No comments.
8. CLOSED SESSION: Closed Session was cancelled.

Regular meeting adjourned at 6:10 PM.
